Wed Feb 05 02:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Flyers Aim to End Historic Scoring Drought Against Utah

**SALT LAKE CITY, UT –** The Philadelphia Flyers (23-25-6) will look to break a franchise-record goalless streak when they face the Utah Hockey Club (21-22-9) on Tuesday at the Delta Center (9:00 p.m. EST). The game will air on NBCSP and 93.3 WMMR.

The Flyers are currently mired in a three-game shutout, a first in franchise history, having gone 180 minutes and 15 seconds without a goal. This drought, only 19 minutes and 28 seconds shy of the previous record set in 2003, will only be avoided if they score within the first 19:43 of Tuesday’s game.

Despite the offensive struggles, goaltenders Samuel Ersson and Ivan Fedotov have shown strong performances in recent games. However, the team’s defense will need to significantly improve to support their goalies and provide opportunities for the offense to break the drought.

The Flyers remain hampered by injuries and personnel changes. Owen Tippett (upper-body injury) and Ryan Poehling (IR, upper body) are day-to-day, while Rasmus Ristolainen (undisclosed injury) is unlikely to play. The status of newly acquired players Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier remains unclear.

Utah poses a significant challenge. In their previous meeting, the Flyers lost 4-2, surrendering a power-play and a shorthanded goal. The Flyers’ special teams have struggled all season, currently ranking 28th on the power play (15.5%) and 20th on the penalty kill (77.4%), while Utah ranks 14th and 7th respectively. The Flyers will need to be especially wary of Utah’s leading scorer, Clayton Keller, who has 56 points this season, including a team-best 38 assists.

The game represents a crucial opportunity for the Flyers to turn their season around, break their scoring slump, and earn a much-needed victory.
