**Washington D.C., January 17, 2025** – Donald Trump will be sworn in for his second term as President of the United States on January 20th, 2025, making him the oldest person to assume the presidency. At 78, he surpasses his own record set in 2017, when he became the oldest president at the time of his first inauguration. This marks a historical return to power, as he is only the second president to lose a re-election bid and subsequently regain the presidency, following Grover Cleveland.

Trump defeated Democrat Kamala Harris in November’s election. His swearing-in ceremony, the 60th presidential inauguration, will begin with fireworks on January 18th. The event marks a significant milestone in US history, with only 21 presidents previously serving a second term. Franklin D.
