**Coimbatore, January 6, 2025** – The Pollachi Municipality in Coimbatore is set to undergo a significant expansion, with five village panchayats soon to be annexed into its limits. According to a government order issued two days ago, Achipatti, Kitta Suramangalam, Puliampatti, Chinnampalayam, and Makkinampatti will be incorporated, increasing the municipality’s area from 13.87 sq.km to 33.64 sq.km. While a previous proposal in 2017 to annex several villages stalled, this revised plan will bring the total population of the municipality to 171,801. Zamin Muthur and Unjavelampatti, initially included in the proposal, will not be annexed at this time.
