**New Delhi, January 6, 2025** – Delhi Chief Minister Atishi today accused the Election Commission of a large-scale scam aimed at manipulating the electoral rolls in the New Delhi Assembly constituency, where upcoming elections are due in February. Addressing a press conference alongside Rajya Sabha Members Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha, Ms. Atishi stated that she had written to the Chief Election Commissioner detailing the alleged conspiracy.
The AAP leader claimed that approximately 10% of new voters have been added, while 5.77% have been deleted from the rolls following a summary revision. She highlighted a particularly suspicious pattern: 4,283 of 6,167 applications for voter deletion were filed by just 84 individuals. When summoned by the Election Commission, these individuals reportedly denied submitting the applications, raising concerns about fraudulent activity.
Ms. Atishi alleges that fake applications are being used to delete names from the voter list and that there is a conspiracy to manipulate the electoral roll, questioning the role of election commission officials in the process. She demanded an immediate inquiry into the matter. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, the current MLA for New Delhi, is implicated by the allegations.
