**Mumbai, December 14, 2024** – A leader of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction, Gaurav Kotgire, was reportedly kidnapped and released in Nanded, Maharashtra. Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and launched an investigation into the incident.

According to police, Mr. Kotgire, the Nanded chief of the Shiv Sena (UBT), was abducted Friday night from his garage in the Bafna area, approximately 670 kilometers from Mumbai. Eight to nine unidentified individuals forced him into an SUV and took him to an undisclosed location. He was released several hours later and subsequently reported the incident to the authorities.

Mr. Kotgire stated that his abductors, who concealed their faces, threatened him with a weapon. He claims they warned him against active political involvement, property dealings, and criticizing other leaders.

The Itvara police station has filed a kidnapping case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against unknown individuals. The police are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the suspects.
