Pathak attributes her success to consistent hard work and dedication, emphasizing the crucial role of her parents in supporting her studies. Her father ensured she had all necessary resources, while her mother provided unwavering support at home, allowing Pathak to focus solely on her studies.

Pathak’s study strategy involved daily newspaper reading (The Hindu), consistent note-making, and rigorous revision and practice. She maintained a daily study schedule of six hours, incorporating breaks with recreational reading to maintain balance. She also acknowledged the guidance of her coaching institute, Vidhigyan, and mentor Shubham Sir.
