**Paderu, Andhra Pradesh –** A lab employee at a government school in Paderu, Alluri Sitharama Raju district, has been arrested and charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following allegations of sexual assault against a female student. The incident, which reportedly occurred on December 5th, came to light after a police complaint was filed.
The accused, Anooj Singh Patel, hails from Uttar Pradesh. The school principal has received a show-cause notice from the Deputy Director of the Tribal Welfare department, L. Rajani.
S Hymavathi of Girijana Mahila Sangham has demanded stringent action against the school authorities, alleging an attempt to cover up the incident. She also advocated for employing more female staff in schools to prevent similar occurrences. The investigation is ongoing.
