**Kolkata, West Bengal:** A weekly express train travelling from Secunderabad to Shalimar derailed near Howrah, West Bengal, early this morning, causing disruption to train services but no reported injuries.

The 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Express derailed at approximately 5:30 am while passing through Nalpur station, about 40 kilometers from Kolkata. The derailment involved a parcel van and two passenger coaches – a third AC economy and a third AC.

According to South Eastern Railway (SER), the derailment occurred as the train was transitioning from the middle to the outer tracks.

Fortunately, there were no reported casualties or major injuries. Accident relief trains and medical relief trains were promptly dispatched from Santragachhi and Kharagpur to the site. Buses were also arranged to transport stranded passengers to their destinations.

A departmental inquiry has been initiated to investigate the cause of the derailment. The accident led to delays in express and suburban trains, but services are expected to resume normalcy soon.
