Sat Oct 12 16:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Alabama Loses Starting Cornerback to Injury in South Carolina Game
Tuscaloosa, AL – Alabama’s defense took a hit in the first half of their game against South Carolina when starting cornerback Domani Jackson left the game with an injury. The injury occurred in the second quarter after Jackson made a tackle to force a third down. He was helped to the sideline by the training staff and later taken to the locker room on a golf cart.
Jackson, a transfer from Southern Cal, is a veteran presence in Alabama’s cornerback group, which is largely filled with youngsters. His absence means that the Crimson Tide now have two freshmen, Jaylen Mbakwe and Zay Mincey, starting at cornerback. Another freshman, DaShawn Jones, a transfer from Wake Forest, provides some experience.
The extent of Jackson’s injury is currently unknown.
