**Srinagar, Kashmir:** Founded in the midst of turbulent times, the H.E.L.P (Human Effort For Love & Peace) foundation has been a beacon of hope for the people of Kashmir for over two decades. Established by the late Mr. Shafi Pandit and Mrs. Nighat Shafi, the foundation has dedicated itself to empowering women, providing education to orphans, and offering free medical care to those in need.

Despite the difficult circumstances, the foundation’s early beginnings were marked by modest beginnings and a small team committed to making a difference. Over the years, H.E.L.P has expanded its reach, establishing vital programs in various regions of Kashmir.

**Kupwara**, the foundation’s primary focus area from 1997 to 2014, witnessed the establishment of the Shan Anwar Memorial School, offering quality education to orphans, children from low-income families, and others. Regular free medical camps, cancer and diabetes screenings, and mental health counseling services have also been integral components of the foundation’s work in the region.

In **Srinagar**, H.E.L.P has set up a women’s bank, a crafts center for women, and a well-equipped orphanage named **SHEHJAR** in Inderhama. This orphanage provides formal education with a focus on religious teachings and mental health care for orphans. Additionally, women work in a mini food processing center, producing spices and pickles, providing them with a source of income.

H.E.L.P also offers scholarships to needy students and provides training for K.A.S and I.A.S aspirants under the guidance of the late Mr. Mohammed Shafi Pandit, a distinguished I.A.S officer. The foundation’s commitment to healthcare is evident in its year-round cancer, diabetes, and hypertension screening camps conducted in remote areas, encouraging doctors to reach those who need it most.
