Sun Oct 06 00:45:00 UTC 2024: ## Amsterdam Rams Fall to Bethlehem in Homecoming Loss

**AMSTERDAM, NY -** The Amsterdam Rams suffered a disappointing homecoming loss on Saturday, falling to the Bethlehem Eagles 34-13 in a Class A Capital Division matchup.

Despite scoring first, the Rams struggled to maintain momentum, allowing the Eagles to score four unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter. Bethlehem’s Jay Felio was a standout performer, racking up four touchdowns on the day.

Amsterdam head coach John Homich attributed the loss to a lack of discipline and execution, citing numerous penalties and turnovers. “We were very undisciplined today,” said Homich. “We had way too many personal fouls and unsportsmanlike calls.”

He highlighted a fumble recovery by Bethlehem in the end zone as a pivotal turning point. “As soon as we had that turnover on special teams, everything got deflated, lifted right out of us,” Homich said.

Despite the setback, the Rams were able to score two touchdowns in the third quarter, but ultimately couldn’t overcome the early deficit.

Amsterdam falls to 1-2 in divisional play and 1-4 overall. They face Mohonasen at home on Friday in their final home game of the season. Bethlehem, now 3-0 in the division and 3-2 overall, will play Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Thursday.
