Fri Sep 20 06:32:31 UTC 2024: ## Black Voter Support for Harris Remains Strong in Swing States: Howard University Poll

**WASHINGTON D.C. -** A new poll conducted by the Howard University Initiative on Public Opinion reveals that Black voters in key swing states overwhelmingly favor Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

The poll, which surveyed registered Black voters aged 18 and over in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, found that 82% of respondents supported Harris, while only 12% backed Trump. A small percentage (5%) remain undecided, and 1% indicated they would vote for another candidate.

The data highlighted a generational divide in support, with older Black voters (over 50) showing even stronger support for Harris (89%) compared to younger Black voters (75%). However, support for Trump among younger Black voters was notably higher (16%) than their older counterparts (8%).

The poll’s findings have sparked discussions about potential shifts in voting patterns within the Black community. Some observers have speculated that the increased support for Trump among younger Black voters could be attributed to dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party or a growing sense of disillusionment.

However, it remains to be seen whether this trend will translate into a significant decrease in overall Black voter support for the Democratic nominee in the 2024 election.
