RAMPACHODAVARAM, INDIA – December 8, 2025 – An official inquiry has been launched into two separate encounters last month in the Maredumilli agency, Andhra Pradesh, that resulted in the deaths of 13 Maoists. Ramachandrapuram Sub-Collector Subham Nokwal issued notifications on Monday, December 8th, setting the stage for the magisterial investigation.
The inquiries are scheduled for December 15th and 16th at the Sub-Collector’s office. The first inquiry, on December 15th, will focus on the encounter in Papikonda National Park, Alluri Sitarama Raju district, where six Maoists, including prominent commander Madvi Hidma, his wife Raje, and four bodyguards, were killed. The second inquiry, on December 16th, will investigate the incident at Pamuleru Panchayat, resulting in the deaths of seven Maoists including Tech Sankar.
“The family members of the deceased, police involved in the alleged exchange of fires, and doctors involved in the post-mortem procedures are directed to appear before the Sub-Collector for the inquiry,” stated Mr. Nokwal in the notification.
