Mon Nov 17 04:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Jeff Bridges and Team Revive Classic Widelux Panoramic Camera
Germany, [Date if available – if not, use ‘Today’] – The iconic Widelux panoramic film camera is making a comeback, thanks to a passionate team including Academy Award-winning actor Jeff Bridges and his wife, photographer Susan “Sue” Bridges. SilverBridges, the company founded by the Bridges and SilvergrainClassics founders Charys Schuler and Marwan El Mozayen, released a video showcasing their progress in reviving and modernizing the legendary camera.
The original Widelux factory burned down 20 years ago, leading to a scarcity and high demand for the cameras. “Rather than let our favorite camera die, we’d bring her back to life,” Jeff Bridges explains in the video. The team is meticulously reverse-engineering the final model, the Panon Widelux F8, to create the WideluxX.
While staying true to the original’s DNA, the WideluxX will feature improvements in build quality, particularly in the knobs. “There’s going to be a lot of small improvements, but its DNA is still an F8,” explains Charys Schuler.
Bridges, a renowned photographer himself, emphasized the Widelux’s unique appeal. He describes the camera’s distinctive look as the “missing link between still photography and motion picture photography because of that lens that actually moves.”
SilverBridges aims to connect the history of analog photography with its future, providing a new generation of artists with the tools to create. “It’s about the art and the craft of camera manufacturing and analog photography,” says Marwan El Mozayen.
The team showcased the initial prototype, noting the final production model will have further refinements. Enthusiasts both familiar with the original Widelux and new to analog photography are eagerly anticipating the camera’s release. “We hope you join us on our panoramic adventure,” added Bridges. The WideluxX is being handmade in Germany.
