Sat Apr 12 12:59:10 UTC 2025: ## Punjab Police Arrest Prime Accused in Jalandhar Grenade Attack
**Chandigarh, April 12, 2025** – The prime accused in the April 7th hand grenade attack on the Jalandhar residence of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia has been arrested. Saidul Ameen, a resident of Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended in Delhi with the assistance of central agencies and Delhi Police, according to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav.
The attack, which caused damage to property but resulted in no injuries, was previously linked by police to a conspiracy involving Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, aimed at inciting communal tension in Punjab. Two other individuals were arrested earlier in connection with the incident, and the e-rickshaw used in the attack was recovered.
DGP Yadav stated that the investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend those who orchestrated the attack, including potential handlers, financial backers, and any foreign connections.
