Sat Apr 05 02:32:19 UTC 2025: ## Two Fugitives Extradited from UAE to India

**New Delhi, April 5, 2025** – The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) announced the successful repatriation of two fugitives from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The individuals, Suhail Basheer and Tofik Najir Khan, were wanted in Kerala and Gujarat, respectively, on serious charges.

Basheer, wanted by Ernakulam Police in Kerala for the alleged rape of a minor, was apprehended following an Interpol Red Notice issued on December 2, 2024. He arrived in India on April 2nd and was escorted by a Kerala Police team.

Khan, sought by Gujarat Police in Mehsana district for alleged criminal conspiracy, forgery, and cheating, was also extradited. An Interpol Red Notice was issued against him on February 25, 2025. He was handed over to a waiting Gujarat Police team upon arrival at Cochin International Airport.

The CBI’s International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU), in collaboration with Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Abu Dhabi and the respective state police forces, coordinated the extradition operations. Both extraditions highlight the growing international cooperation in apprehending and returning fugitives.
