**Hyderabad, April 1, 2025** – The Congress party has accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of spreading misinformation regarding the Telangana government’s acquisition of 400 acres of land in Kancha Gachibowli. Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that the University of Hyderabad had been provided alternative land, relinquishing all claims to the original plot. He highlighted that successive state governments, including those led by K. Rosaiah, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, and K. Chandrashekar Rao, fought legal battles – culminating in a Supreme Court victory – to establish the state’s ownership of the land.

Congress spokesperson Chanagani Dayakar criticized BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao’s use of the term “Green Murder” to describe the legally acquired land, emphasizing that the government’s actions saved the land from private developers and will benefit Telangana by attracting IT companies. Dayakar further alleged a conspiracy between the BRS and BJP to defame the state government. The Congress maintains the land acquisition was entirely legal and in the best interests of the state.
