**KOCHI, March 22, 2025** – Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) inaugurated a 3.2 MW AC floating solar power plant at its Kochi Refinery today. The plant, built at a cost of ₹28.93 crore, sits on eight acres of a 19-acre rainwater harvesting pond. Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan officially opened the facility. Ms. Muraleedharan also inspected the progress of a separate BPCL project: a 150 TPD municipal solid waste-to-compressed biogas (CBG) plant near the Brahmapuram waste dumping yard. The initiatives represent significant steps toward renewable energy and waste management in the region.
