Tue Mar 11 16:02:10 UTC 2025: ## Danfoss to Invest ₹1,200 Crore in India

**Chennai, March 11, 2025** – Denmark-based Danfoss Group announced a ₹1,200 crore investment in India over the next three years. The investment will fund a new factory in Pune (₹1,000 crore) and expand the Chennai campus, which will remain the company’s headquarters. This expansion is driven by India’s rapid growth, making it Danfoss’s fastest-growing region globally.

Danfoss India’s strong performance, with double-digit growth in 2024 and a rise to the top 6 globally within the Danfoss group, fueled the decision. The company projects India to become one of its top 3 growth regions by 2028.

This investment will focus on several key sectors: data center cooling, semiconductor manufacturing (supporting the growth of India’s semiconductor plants), and industrial decarbonization (aligning with India’s Net Zero 2070 target). Further growth is expected in energy efficiency and electrification, particularly within the marine and port modernization sectors.

Globally, Danfoss reported a net profit of EUR 370 million in 2024, with sales reaching EUR 9.7 billion and an operational EBITA of EUR 1,097 million (11.3% margin). The company invested EUR 488 million in research and development, maintaining this investment despite business challenges. While acknowledging AI’s enabling role, Danfoss’s president, Ravichandran Purushothaman, did not foresee any dramatic shifts due to AI in the near future.
