NEW DELHI (February 4, 2025) – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal confidently predicted a sweeping victory in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, forecasting his party will secure at least 55 out of 70 seats. Speaking at a series of rallies across the city on Monday, Kejriwal expressed optimism that AAP could surpass 60 seats with the support of women voters. He urged women to persuade their male family members to vote for AAP, highlighting the party’s pro-women policies.
Kejriwal’s campaign focused heavily on the party’s welfare schemes, promising free electricity, free bus rides for women, free medical treatment, and the transfer of ₹2,100 to the accounts of women through the Mahila Samman Yojana. He warned against the BJP, claiming they would dismantle existing welfare programs, potentially increasing household expenses by ₹25,000. Additional promises included free bus services for students, discounted metro passes, free electricity and water for tenants, and job creation initiatives.
Chief Minister Atishi, contesting in Kalkaji, joined Kejriwal in one of the rallies. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also campaigned in Delhi, showing support for AAP candidates. Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia led a bike rally to encourage voting for AAP. The campaign’s intense focus on women voters suggests a key strategy for securing a significant win in the upcoming elections.
