Tue Feb 04 02:50:00 IST 2025: **Man Shoots Son Dead in Financial Dispute in Madhya Pradesh**

UJJAIN, INDIA (February 4, 2025) – A 55-year-old man, the brother of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, was arrested for allegedly shooting his son to death following a financial dispute. The incident occurred Monday morning in Suchai village, Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh.

According to Ujjain Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Pallavi Shukla, Mangal Singh Malviya, used a licensed revolver to shoot his 35-year-old son, Arvind Balai, in the head during an argument over money from their family kirana (grocery) shop. Balai died at the scene.

Malviya, the elder brother of BJP MLA Satish Malviya, is in custody. Police are investigating whether prior disputes existed between father and son. Balai is survived by his wife and two children. A post-mortem examination has been conducted.
