Mon Feb 03 21:58:43 UTC 2025: ## Sanju Samson Fractures Finger, Ruled Out for Six Weeks
**Bengaluru, India** – Indian wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson will be sidelined for five to six weeks after fracturing his index finger during the fifth T20I against England. The injury occurred when a bouncer, reportedly bowled at nearly 150 kmph by Jofra Archer, struck Samson’s finger. Despite the pain, Samson continued batting before undergoing a scan which revealed the fracture.
While Samson’s absence from the upcoming ODI series and Champions Trophy doesn’t represent a major setback for the national team, his unavailability for the Ranji Trophy knockout stages will be a blow to Kerala. Sources within the BCCI indicate he is expected to return to action in time for the IPL.
Samson is currently recovering at his home in Thiruvananthapuram before heading to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further treatment and rehabilitation. The injury highlights a frustrating period for the young cricketer, who has seen limited opportunities for the national team recently, further hampered by injury setbacks.
