**Bengaluru, India** – Indian wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson will be sidelined for five to six weeks after fracturing his index finger during the fifth T20I against England. The injury occurred when a bouncer, reportedly bowled at nearly 150 kmph by Jofra Archer, struck Samson’s finger. Despite the pain, Samson continued batting before undergoing a scan which revealed the fracture.
While Samson’s absence from the upcoming ODI series and Champions Trophy doesn’t represent a major setback for the national team, his unavailability for the Ranji Trophy knockout stages will be a blow to Kerala.
