Fri Jan 17 02:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Nicolas Cage Back in Action as Spider-Noir for MGM+ Series

**Los Angeles, CA** – Production on the highly anticipated streaming series *Spider-Noir* has resumed following the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. Lead star Nicolas Cage, reprising his role as Ben Reilly/Spider-Man Noir from *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse*, was spotted on set in his private investigator attire. The series, a collaboration between MGM+ and Amazon Prime, follows an aging, down-on-his-luck detective in 1930s New York forced to confront his past as the city’s superhero.

Cage’s return to the role, previously expressed as a preference for fantasy-based projects over violent roles, has generated significant buzz. The show’s production, which began before Sony Pictures ended its villain-centric Marvel universe, now presents a potential opportunity for Sony to expand its focus on Spider-Man variants across film and television.

*Spider-Noir* boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, and Jack Huston, alongside a strong supporting cast. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serve as co-showrunners, with Harry Bradbeer directing the first two episodes.

The series will premiere on MGM+ in the U.S. and globally on Amazon Prime Video. Set photos from the production have been released online, offering fans a sneak peek at Cage in costume.
