Fri Jan 17 13:15:06 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Corporation Cleans Up Anganwadi Site After Waste Removal
**Chennai, January 17, 2025** – The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) removed approximately 5-6 tonnes of waste from the premises of an anganwadi center in Muthamil Nagar, Kodungaiyur, on Friday. The area, located in ward 35 of the Tondiarpet zone, had been reported to be littered with rodent carcasses, liquor bottles, construction debris, and household garbage, some of it burnt.
A ward-level authority stated that all waste has been removed, but the problem of individuals using the site for anti-social activities, including alcohol consumption, persists. The police have been informed.
The GCC plans to propose renovations for the three affected anganwadis in blocks 5, 7, and 8 to higher authorities.
