Fri Jan 17 04:35:43 UTC 2025: ## BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Colluding with Hindenburg After Firm’s Closure

**New Delhi** – The BJP launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi Thursday, alleging a close relationship between the Congress leader and the now-defunct short-selling firm, Hindenburg Research. The accusations followed Hindenburg’s announcement that it would be closing its operations.

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned whether Gandhi had “taken over” Hindenburg’s operations, suggesting a coordinated effort to destabilize India. Prasad pointed to the timing of Hindenburg’s reports, often released just before parliamentary sessions, which the Congress then used to attack the government, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also claimed that Hindenburg and the Congress worked “in sync” to destabilize India.

This comes a day after Gandhi declared that the Congress was now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the “Indian State” itself. This statement was used by the BJP to further fuel their accusations, claiming it highlighted the alleged collusion between the Congress and Hindenburg.

The Congress party, however, maintains that Hindenburg’s closure doesn’t absolve the Adani Group or the Modi government of any wrongdoing. The Adani Group, targeted by Hindenburg’s reports last year, has denied all allegations of business malpractice.

Prasad further expanded his criticism to include George Soros, alleging that Soros, who he claims funds Hindenburg, may also be scaling back his operations under the incoming US administration. He lauded the RSS as a nationalist organization.

The BJP’s attacks focused heavily on Gandhi’s rhetoric and leadership, urging him to reconsider his approach. The party also characterized Gandhi’s comments as an attempt to “break India” and divide society. The controversy unfolded against the backdrop of the Congress party’s inauguration of its new headquarters.
