**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India** – The Prayagraj Kumbh Mela 2025, a once-in-144-years religious event, commenced on January 13th with a record-breaking turnout. Authorities estimate that over 10 million devotees took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam (confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers) on the first day alone. The placement of a statue of Mulayam Singh Yadav, founder of the Samajwadi Party, in one of the camps prompted a response from Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, urging against such potentially divisive actions.

Despite this, the overall atmosphere remains one of intense religious fervor and national pride. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings, expressing his hope that the Kumbh Mela would infuse new energy and enthusiasm into the lives of all participants.
