**COIMBATORE, January 12, 2025** – The Coimbatore Corporation has implemented a new solution to address the challenges of maintaining its parks and Smart City lakes: remote-operated grass-cutting machines. Facing manpower shortages and time-consuming manual pruning of overgrown vegetation, the corporation purchased five machines at a cost of ₹1.5 lakh each. These diesel-powered machines will be allocated to each of the city’s five zones.
A successful trial run was conducted at Kumarasamy Lake on Saturday. Based on the trial’s results, the corporation will determine whether to expand its fleet of robotic mowers. This initiative aims to improve efficiency and upkeep of green spaces within the city.
