MACHERLA, January 6, 2025 – A YSRCP leader, Turaka Kishore, has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days for his alleged involvement in an attack on the TDP local office and party cadre in Macherla in 2022. The arrest follows a complaint filed by TDP leaders alleging unlawful assembly, conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, and other offenses.
According to Palnadu district Superintendent of Police Kanchi Srinivasa Rao, Kishore was arrested on Sunday and produced in court on Monday. Police have gathered video evidence allegedly showing Kishore participating in the burning of vehicles during clashes that also involved the vandalism of TDP sympathisers’ homes and the burning of the TDP Macherla office. The incident occurred during a TDP campaign in the name of Idem Kharmara Babu.
