**Chennai, January 6, 2025** – Tamil Nadu’s strong law and order record, contributing to increased employment opportunities for women, was highlighted in Governor R.N. Ravi’s address to the state Assembly today. Although Governor Ravi departed shortly after beginning his speech, Speaker M. Appavu read the state government-prepared Tamil version.
The address lauded Tamil Nadu as a top-performing state in maintaining law and order, noting that 41% of all working women in Indian factories are employed within the state. This positive environment, the Governor stated, has also attracted significant industrial investment.
The Governor further emphasized the state government’s ongoing zero-tolerance policy towards drugs and narcotics, citing frequent raids, awareness campaigns, and strengthened border security as key components of the anti-drug strategy. A proactive approach to cybercrime, utilizing advanced technology and investigative techniques, was also mentioned.
