Mon Jan 06 20:11:36 IST 2025: ## Cyberabad Police Launch Month-Long Operation to Rescue Exploited Children
**Hyderabad, January 6, 2025** – The Women & Children Safety Wing (W&CSW) and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Cyberabad Police launched “Operation Smile-XI” today, a month-long initiative aimed at rescuing children from exploitation. The operation, which runs until January 31st, will focus on tracing missing children and rescuing those forced into begging, rag-picking, child labour, trafficking, and bonded labour.
Eleven special teams, each comprising a Sub-Inspector and four constables (including one woman), have been deployed. The teams will utilize facial recognition software, Darpan, to identify missing and unidentified children. Police have also identified hotspots for child labour based on past data and will collaborate with relevant stakeholders for rehabilitation efforts. DCP K. Srujana of W&CSW highlighted the technology’s role in reuniting children with their families, while Inspector B. James Babu of AHTU emphasized the collaborative approach to rescue and rehabilitation.
