Sat Jan 04 12:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana NEET Aspirants Plead for AIQ Resignation Deadline Extension

**Hyderabad:** Telangana NEET aspirants are facing uncertainty due to the delayed commencement of state counselling, leaving them unable to make informed decisions about resigning from their All India Quota (AIQ) seats. With the AIQ round 2 resignation deadline already passed and the state’s first counselling round yet to begin, students are caught in a difficult situation.

Aspirants have written to the Health Minister, Indian Medical Association (IMA), KNRUHS, National Medical Commission (NMC), and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), requesting an extension to the AIQ resignation period. They argue that the delay has caused significant stress, financial loss, and forced many to accept AIQ seats far from their homes.

The students cite examples of other states, such as Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, which extended AIQ resignation deadlines. They are urging Telangana authorities to allow resignations after the state’s first counselling round results are announced or following a Supreme Court hearing on January 8th concerning the state’s local quota. The aspirants are demanding immediate action to alleviate their plight.
