**Chennai, December 26, 2024** – A horrific head-on collision on GST Road near Madurantakam on Wednesday night claimed the lives of three people and left four others seriously injured. The accident involved two cars, one carrying a family of six from Red Hills who were traveling to Dindigul.
According to Chengalpattu district police, the family’s car, driven by Ganapathy, was struck by a speeding car that veered across the median. Ganapathy, along with two children, Bala (10) and Hema (13), died at the scene. Three adult women in the family – Jaya, Saranya, and Diya – along with the unidentified driver of the other vehicle, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Chengalpattu Government Medical College Hospital.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem, and Pattalam police have registered a case to investigate the cause of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
