**Vasai, Maharashtra –** A six-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after a hit-and-run incident in Naipada Village, Waliv, Vasai East, on Wednesday. Disturbing CCTV footage shows the child being struck by a car, dragged, and run over by the rear wheel before the vehicle speeds away without stopping.
The incident, captured on camera, shows the car, believed to be a taxi, parked near a gate. While passengers entered and exited the vehicle, the child ran in front and crouched down. The driver then started the car, making a turn that directly hit the child. Despite the presence of two individuals in the car, neither intervened, and the vehicle fled the scene.
The boy, though injured, managed to get up and walk towards other children. Police have registered a case against an unknown person and are currently investigating to identify the car’s owner and the driver. The child is receiving medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
