NEW YORK, December 26, 2024 – A taxi cab jumped the curb near Macy’s Herald Square in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, striking six pedestrians. Three individuals, including a nine-year-old boy, were transported to area hospitals with injuries, while the remaining three refused medical treatment. All victims are reported to be in stable condition.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson stated that the taxi driver may have experienced a medical episode, though the investigation is ongoing. Video footage shows the damaged taxi on the sidewalk, its front bumper detached. The driver remained at the scene and the vehicle was later towed. The incident occurred around 4 p.m.
