**Hyderabad, December 26, 2024** – Four men have been arrested in Hyderabad for the gang rape and sexual assault of a minor girl. The incident occurred on the night of December 23-24 in the Borabanda area.
According to Borabanda Inspector S. Veerashekar, the girl and a male friend were returning home in an autorickshaw when they were stopped by four men on a two-wheeler. Two men boarded the autorickshaw, while the other two followed on the bike. The men threatened the driver, forced him to leave, and took the couple to an isolated location where they demanded money. While one man restrained the boy, three others allegedly took the girl to her uncle’s house and attempted to sexually assault her.
The girl escaped to her nearby home, but the accused followed, threatened her family with a blade, and sexually harassed her again. Three of the men initially escaped but were apprehended shortly afterward. All four, who are natives of Bihar, are now in custody.
The accused have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including gang rape of a minor, wrongful confinement, stalking, assault, criminal intimidation, house trespass, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The investigation is ongoing.
