**Hyderabad, December 20, 2024** – A 22-year-old mason, Gunja Guruswamy, has been sentenced to ten years of rigorous imprisonment and fined ₹16,000 for the rape of a minor girl. The Fast Track Special Judge at L.B. Nagar, Hyderabad, also ordered the payment of ₹5 lakh in compensation to the victim for rehabilitation.

Guruswamy, a resident of Saheb Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, reportedly abducted and sexually assaulted the girl under false pretenses of love and marriage. The court found him guilty on all charges following the trial. Police reports indicate that he lured the victim with false promises before committing the crime. The compensation awarded aims to assist the victim in her recovery.
