**Hyderabad, India** – Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has been released on interim bail by the Telangana High Court following his arrest in connection with the death of a woman at a special screening of his film *Pushpa 2*. Arjun spent a night in jail after being remanded to judicial custody by a Hyderabad magistrate court.
The actor, released this morning after receiving the High Court order, expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased woman, stating the incident was deeply unfortunate. He pledged his full cooperation with police investigations and reiterated his respect for the law. He also thanked his supporters.
The single judge Justice Juvadi Sridevi, in granting bail, observed that Arjun could not be held primarily responsible for the incident, as he had obtained permission for the special screening. The court rejected the state’s argument that Arjun should have anticipated the possibility of such an incident occurring at the screening.
Arjun’s arrest sparked widespread protests across Telangana, with opposition parties, including the BRS, and members of the Telugu film industry criticizing the government’s actions. Theater owners who were also arrested in connection with the incident have also been released.
