**Belagavi, Karnataka – December 12, 2024** – The Karnataka Legislative Assembly was thrown into chaos today following a protest by the Panchamasali Lingayat sect demanding increased reservation quotas. The BJP opposition demanded an inquiry into a police lathi-charge on protesters outside the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, while the ruling government refused, leading to a BJP walkout.

The heated debate saw clashes between ruling and opposition members. BJP leaders accused police of excessive force and violating protocol, alleging “high-handedness” in dispersing the crowd.
