**Hyderabad, December 9, 2024** – The Telangana state government announced a major boost to its economy on Sunday, securing investments totaling nearly ₹7,600 crore from four companies across various sectors. The investments, announced to mark the one-year anniversary of the Congress government, are expected to generate 5,200 jobs.
The agreements, signed on Sunday, include:
* **Azad Engineering:** A ₹800 crore investment in a superalloy manufacturing plant near Hyderabad, creating 600 jobs. The plant will be built in two phases, with ₹300 crore invested initially.
* **Premier Energies:** A ₹2,000 crore investment in a solar ingots and aluminum plant in Sitarampur, generating approximately 1,500 jobs. Additionally, Premier Energies Global Environment committed ₹3,342 crore for a 4 GW solar PV TOPCon cell and module manufacturing unit in the same location, promising 1,000 jobs.
* **Lenskart:** A ₹1,500 crore investment in an eyewear products manufacturing plant in Fabcity, expected to create 2,100 jobs.
Telangana’s Minister for IT and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu, hailed the investments as a significant milestone for the state. The projects represent a diverse range of sectors, encompassing aerospace and defense, renewable energy, and online retail.
