**New Delhi** – The Common University Entrance Test (CUET), used for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, will undergo significant changes for its 2025 iteration, according to University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Jagadesh Kumar. Following a review by an expert panel addressing past issues, including technical glitches and logistical problems, the exam will see modifications to its structure, number of papers, duration, syllabus alignment, and operational logistics.

The UGC formed the expert committee to analyze feedback from the 2022 and 2024 exams, which faced challenges such as widespread technical glitches in its inaugural year and the cancellation of exams in Delhi in 2024 due to logistical reasons. The necessity for score normalization in 2022, due to multi-shift testing, also prompted review.

Kumar announced that the UGC will soon release a draft proposal outlining the revised guidelines for CUET-UG and CUET-PG 2025. This proposal will be open for feedback from students, parents, teachers, and educational institutions. The changes aim to create a smoother, more efficient, and student-friendly examination process.
