Sat Dec 07 03:56:35 UTC 2024: ## India Cruises into U-19 Asia Cup Final with Dominant Win Over Sri Lanka

**Colombo, Sri Lanka –** India secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the U-19 Asia Cup semifinal on Friday, setting up a final clash against Bangladesh on December 8th. Vaibhav Suryavanshi led the charge with a blistering 36-ball 67, his second consecutive fifty in the tournament, powering India to victory.

Sri Lanka, after electing to bat, found themselves in early trouble, losing their top three batsmen within the first four overs. A 93-run partnership between Sharujan Shanmuganathan and Lakvin Abeysinghe briefly revived their hopes. However, Abeysinghe’s gritty 69 off 110 balls proved insufficient as wickets continued to fall. Sri Lanka were eventually bowled out for 173 in 46.2 overs, with Chetan Sharma taking three wickets for India and Ayush Mhatre and Kiran Chormale claiming two each.

India’s chase was swift and decisive. Ayush Mhatre and Suryavanshi exploded with a 92-run opening stand in just 5.1 overs. While Mhatre contributed 34 runs, Suryavanshi’s whirlwind innings, peppered with five sixes and six fours, steered India home with ease. This victory keeps India on track for their ninth U-19 Asia Cup title. Bangladesh secured their place in the final earlier, defeating Pakistan by seven wickets.
