NEW YORK – Aliya Fakhri, sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, has been arrested in New York and charged with the double murder of her ex-boyfriend and his friend. Fakhri, 43, is accused of setting fire to a two-story garage in Queens last November 2nd, resulting in the deaths of Edward Jacobs and his friend, Etine (33).
According to the District Attorney Melinda Ketz’s office, Fakhri arrived at the garage shouting threats before igniting the fire while Jacobs and Etine were asleep upstairs. A witness corroborated this account. Jacobs’ mother, Jeanette, stated that her son had ended his relationship with Fakhri a year prior, a decision Fakhri reportedly refused to accept. Jacobs was a carpenter renovating the garage into an apartment.
While Nargis Fakhri, known for her role in the Bollywood film *Rockstar*, has yet to comment on the arrest, Aliya Fakhri’s mother reportedly expressed disbelief at the accusations. The investigation is ongoing.
