Tue Dec 03 05:29:28 UTC 2024: ## Actress Nargis Fakhri’s Sister Indicted on Murder Charges in Deadly Arson

**New York, NY** – Aliya Fakhri, 43, sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, has been indicted on murder charges in connection with a fatal fire in Queens, New York. Fakhri is accused of intentionally setting fire to a detached garage on November 23rd, resulting in the deaths of her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, 35, and his friend, Anastasia Ettienne, 33.

According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, Fakhri arrived at the property early in the morning and allegedly shouted, “You’re all going to die today,” before starting the blaze. Ettienne perished attempting to rescue Jacobs from the burning building. Both victims died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.

Prosecutors allege the arson was a result of Fakhri’s rejection by Jacobs, who had ended their relationship over a year ago. Jacobs’ mother confirmed to the New York Post that her son had been trying to distance himself from Fakhri, who refused to accept the breakup.

Fakhri faces four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and arson charges. She has pleaded not guilty and is currently being held at Rikers Island. If convicted on the most serious charge, she faces life imprisonment. Her next court appearance is scheduled for December 9th.

While Fakhri’s mother has expressed disbelief at the accusations, claiming her daughter is a caring person, the DA’s office maintains a strong case against her. The case continues to unfold, with significant implications for both Fakhri and the families of the victims.
