**Mumbai, India:** The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain closed today, November 15th, in observance of Guru Nanak Jayanti. This marks the second stock market closure in November, following the Diwali holiday observed on November 1st.

Trading in equity, Futures & Options (F&O) and Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) segments will be suspended for the day. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will operate on a partial schedule, with trading closed during the morning session (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) but resuming in the evening session (5 p.m. to 11:30/11:55 p.m.).

The exchanges will observe another market holiday next week on Wednesday, November 20th, due to the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Voting for the 288-member legislative Assembly will take place on November 19th, with vote counting scheduled for November 23rd.

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Guru Nanak Prakash Utsav, celebrates the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. The festival is one of the most significant occasions for the Sikh community.
