**New Delhi, November 15th:** Banks will remain closed in several states across India today, November 15th, due to the observance of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima.

Guru Nanak Jayanti, the birthday of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, is celebrated widely in North India. Kartik Purnima, a significant Hindu festival, falls on the same date this year.

As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, bank holidays are declared for national and state-specific festivals and events.

**Here are the states where banks will be closed on November 15th:**

**Karnataka:** Banks will be closed on November 18th due to the celebration of Kanakadasa Jayanti.
**Meghalaya:** Banks will be closed on November 23rd due to the celebration of Seng Kut Snem.
