Sun Oct 27 11:59:47 UTC 2024: ## AAP Accuses BJP of Plotting to “Kill” Kejriwal, Delhi Police of Complicity

**New Delhi, October 26, 2024:** The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of plotting to “kill” former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal. The party claims that Kejriwal was attacked by “BJP goons” during his “padyatra” (foot march) in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri on Friday.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh, addressing a press conference, alleged a “deep-rooted conspiracy” to eliminate Kejriwal and accused the Delhi Police of being complicit in the alleged incident. “The BJP has become an enemy of his (Kejriwal’s) life,” Singh said, warning that the BJP would be held responsible for any harm that comes to the AAP convenor.

Singh claimed that despite the incident, no complaint was filed with the police because they were biased and did not take action against the alleged attackers, who he identified as belonging to the BJP’s youth wing.

Delhi cabinet minister Saurabh Bharadwaj further alleged that the attackers included the vice president and general secretary of the BJP’s Delhi Yuva Morcha.

However, the BJP has vehemently denied the AAP’s accusations. Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta dismissed it as another “drama” by the AAP to defame the BJP ahead of the assembly polls. He questioned why the party hadn’t filed a police complaint, suggesting they were using the incident to gain sympathy.

Despite the allegations, AAP has confirmed that Kejriwal will continue his “padyatra” as scheduled.

This incident comes at a time when the AAP is actively campaigning for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls, which are likely to be held in February 2025. The party’s leaders, including Kejriwal, have been conducting “padyatras” across different assembly segments in the city.
