Sun Oct 13 13:10:58 UTC 2024: ## Government Agrees with RSS Concerns on OTT Content, Promises Action

**New Delhi:** Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has assured that the government shares the concerns raised by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat regarding the “lack of control” over content on over-the-top (OTT) platforms. During his annual Vijayadashami speech, Bhagwat expressed concern over the negative impact of unregulated content on youth, citing distorted propaganda and poor values being disseminated through these platforms.

Joshi, the Minister for New and Renewable Energy, acknowledged this as a global issue and stated that the concerned ministry is already examining the matter. “We completely agree with that. This is a worldwide problem. The government will always think about that, and the concerned ministry will take action. We are already working on all such things that we receive. As far as I know, the government is already examining that,” he said.

Bhagwat, in his speech, highlighted the ease of access to such content for children due to the widespread availability of mobile phones. He urged for legal monitoring over advertisements and “perverted visual content” readily available in homes and society.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi echoed the sentiment, urging people to listen to Bhagwat’s speech, which he believes will inspire generations and contribute to achieving a “Developed India.”
