**Dubai, UAE:** The West Indies Women’s Cricket Team bounced back from their opening defeat with a convincing six-wicket victory over Scotland in the Women’s T20 World Cup on Tuesday.

West Indies chased down Scotland’s paltry total of 99-8 with ease, reaching their target in just 11.4 overs. Deandra Dottin, who made a triumphant return from retirement, starred with a blistering 28 not out off 15 balls, hitting two sixes to seal the win in style.

Scotland struggled to build momentum throughout their innings, losing wickets in clusters. Ailsa Lister top-scored with 26 but was dropped three times, including on three occasions by Hayley Matthews.

Afy Fletcher was the pick of the West Indies bowlers, taking 3-22 and restricting Scotland’s scoring.

Qiana Joseph, who came in at number three, played a crucial role in the chase, scoring 31 off 18 balls, with three fours and a six. She laid the platform for Dottin’s explosive finish.

The win was a crucial one for the West Indies, boosting their net run-rate and setting them up well for their upcoming match against Bangladesh.

Scotland, meanwhile, will face last year’s finalists, South Africa, in their next match.
