Indore, India – Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam has condemned the alleged use of animal fat in the Tirupati temple laddu, calling it a “horrendous sin” and demanding strict action against those responsible.
Krishnam, who was expelled from the Congress earlier this year, was reacting to claims made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who accused the previous YSRCP government of using substandard ingredients and animal fat in the making of the famous laddus.
“It is a horrendous sin that has hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus,” Krishnam said, adding that those involved in the alleged conspiracy must be brought to justice. He also expressed support for Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s call for a national board to oversee temple affairs.
“The time has come to constitute a ‘Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board’ at the national level to look into all the issues related to temples in the country,” said Kalyan, echoing Krishnam’s concerns.
Krishnam also took aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of attacking India with his statements made on foreign soil. He further advocated for “one country, one election,” a Uniform Civil Code, and a population control law, stating that these are essential for the country’s well-being and not the agenda of any particular party.
