**New York, September 19, 2024** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a three-day visit to the United States today, where he will participate in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, and address the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Quad Summit, hosted by President Joe Biden, will bring together leaders from India, the US, Japan, and Australia to discuss key issues like the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, maritime security, emerging technologies, and a new initiative to combat cancer. India is set to host the next Quad Summit.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will also engage in bilateral meetings with various world leaders to address pressing global issues. He expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, stating that discussions with President Biden will focus on furthering mutual interests.

The Prime Minister will also interact with the Indian diaspora in New York and prominent American business leaders, aiming to enhance collaboration in cutting-edge sectors like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology.

Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump announced plans to meet with Prime Minister Modi during his trip. However, the Ministry of External Affairs has not included this meeting in the Prime Minister’s official schedule.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit is expected to be a significant one, with opportunities to further strengthen India’s ties with the US and other key partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
